Overview

The Credentialed Trainer is a vital member of the Epic training team, responsible for delivering high-quality, role-specific education to end-users of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system and related systems. In addition to conducting engaging classroom and virtual training sessions, the Credentialed Trainer contributes to the development and maintenance of training materials, including manuals, quick reference guides, and e-learning content. This role works in close collaboration with Principal Trainers, Clinical Informatics, and subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, aligned with validated workflows, and responsive to evolving organizational needs. The Credentialed Trainer also provides support during go-live events and optimization efforts. Through a commitment to excellence in education and a focus on continuous improvement, this role supports the successful adoption and long-term effectiveness of the Epic system and related systems across the organization.

 

Note: Due to the nature of this role, incumbent may work hours other than daytime, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the successful training and proficiency of end-users in the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system and related systems by delivering engaging, effective, and role-specific education. This role supports users in gaining the confidence and skills needed to navigate Epic applications accurately and efficiently.
  • Supports the development and continuous improvement of Epic training materials and related materials by collaborating with Principal Trainers, Clinical Informatics, and subject matter experts. The Credentialed Trainer ensures that all instructional content is accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with system functionality and clinical workflows.
  • Proactively participates in education programs, departmental meetings, professional committees, and organizational initiatives to support continuous learning and improvement in Epic training practices. The Credentialed Trainer contributes to a collaborative and informed training environment by staying current, sharing expertise, and engaging in professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred and 1-2 years experience in a healthcare, IT, or training setting with computer knowledge. Previous work with EHR systems, particularly Epic is preferred. or
  • Associate's Degree and 3-5 years experience in a healthcare, IT, or training setting with computer knowledge. Previous work with EHR systems, particularly Epic is preferred. or
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5+ years' experience in a healthcare, IT, or training setting with computer knowledge. Previous work with EHR systems, particularly Epic is preferred.
    • Receive credentialing in at least one application-specific Epic class curriculum determined by role leadership. Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic credentialing if not already Epic credentialed.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $34.21/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
