Overview

The Facilities Operations Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Vice President of Facilities by overseeing financial operations, contract and lease management, and administrative workflows across Planning, Construction, Engineering, and Safety. This position manages day-to-day capital and operational budget activities, ensures compliance and accuracy in financial reporting, and leads the development of systems for tracking project documentation and expenditures. The role also supervises administrative staff, coordinates vendor relationships, and serves as a liaison to departments such as Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth, efficient operations aligned with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supports oversight for capital and operational budgets by managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate tracking of expenditures and purchase orders, and partnering with leadership to deliver strategic budget planning across all facility projects.
  • In partnership with other stakeholders, manages the full lifecycle of facility design, construction, and lease contracts including overseeing drafting, compliance, renewals, and vendor coordination while ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals and serving as a key liaison to Legal and Finance.
  • Provides operational and administrative leadership across Facilities by managing daily operations, vendor coordination, financial and procurement activities, cross-departmental collaboration, and executive support while ensuring streamlined workflows, effective communication, and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Leads the development and continuous improvement of operational systems and workflows that support project documentation, financial tracking, and contract management.
  • Leads the administrative team in the development and execution of processes and workflows to support leaders and produce key business results in alignment with strategic plan department goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in business administration, construction management, finance, or accounting preferred. and 3-5 years experience Seven years of experience preferred in administrative or operational management roles, with demonstrated expertise in financial execution and contract administration. A deep understanding of financial systems, budget reconciliation, and contract language is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, financial software, and contract management platforms is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams, are preferred. or
  • Associate's Degree Degree in business administration, construction management, finance, or accounting preferred. and 7 or more years experience Seven years of experience preferred in administrative or operational management roles, with demonstrated expertise in financial execution and contract administration. A deep understanding of financial systems, budget reconciliation, and contract language is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, financial software, and contract management platforms is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams, are preferred.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $37.00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
