The Intestinal Rehabilitation and Nutrition Support Teams utilize a clinical pharmacy specialist to assist in ensuring proper pharmaceutical care and adherence to guideline recommendations to patients. The role of the IR/NS Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is to assure safe and effective medication therapy throughout the patient’s hospital stay, upon discharge, and at home through follow up in clinic. The pharmacist spends a significant amount of time providing education to families, therapeutic recommendations to the team and answering drug information requests from the team or patient families.

• Provides patient-focused pharmaceutical care through rational, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy evaluation, management, recommendations, and patient education.
• Participates in the development and presentation of orientation, education, and training programs to patients, pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff and to other parties as appropriate upon request.
• Participates in departmental quality improvement projects upon request and facilitates effective communication regarding initiatives to appropriate parties.
• Maintains competence required for current job title/position and engages in professional self-development.

• Other RPH/Pharm.D. and 7 or more years experience Must be able to demonstrate activities consistent with Clinical Specialists position description in previous experience
• Licensed Pharmacist - MO
• Employees must obtain Licensed Pharmacist - MO or equivalent within 90 days
• PHARM LIC KS Licensed Pharmacist - KS Only if primary work location is in Kansas Required 90 Days
• Specialty Certification Preferred Upon Hire

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $57.81/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
