Overview

Under the direction of a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)), the RTSI will perform technical pediatric radiographic procedures with constant supervision. They must demonstrate a commitment to service excellence and providing safe and effective care. They will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to use ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis under the indirect supervision of a Radiologist. They are also responsible for a variety of clinical and clerical tasks as directed by Department Manager/Supervisor or a RT(R) on shift. RTSI is a temporary position lasting 6-12 months. RTSI must be currently enrolled in the second year of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. RTSI will meet with Supervisor monthly or as directed. RTSI will be directly supervised by the Director, Manager, or Supervisor in the assigned location(s) where they will work during their program until graduation.

If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic procedures per department protocol under supervision of Registered Radiologic Technologist. Places patients in exam rooms and verifies necessary paperwork. Able to utilize and be completely competent with fluoroscopy, C-arm, portable exams, bone density and all diagnostic equipment.
  • Performs essential RIS/HIS functions
  • Perform Clerical Functions
  • Assists radiologist in all appropriate procedures

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent Actively enrolled in an accredited RT(R) program No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
  • BLS certification Required

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $17.15/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
