Overview

The Senior Informatics Applications Analyst supports the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Children's Mercy and the Health Informatics and Technology(HIT) division. The Senior Applications Analyst serves as technical HIT subject matter expert for the clinical applications and will lead incident management processes. The Senior Applications Analyst manages complex projects and programs in assigned area (Providers, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health, and/or Laboratory/Radiology) and mentors others in the development of project management skills. The Senior Analyst maintains assigned clinical applications while assisting department leadership with developing applications and new technology strategies. The Senior Analyst is a liaison to the care delivery team and develops, implements, and effectively uses clinical technologies. They collaborate to positively impact patient safety and care quality.

 

Epic/Cupid experience strongly desired. Epic certification will be required within 120 days.

 

This role is remote but incumbent must live within the KC metro.

Responsibilities

Serves as a Health informatics resource for clinical departments:

  • Design and recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems.
  • Serves as technical subject matter expert for department and organizational committees and initiatives; plans, coordinates, and develops technologies to support clinical processes.
  • Responds to system issues and user requests for assistance.
  • Provides 24/7 support as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Initiate /Lead Incident Management processes to resolve issues/services as soon as possible.
  • Collaborates to provide training and communication about changes and fulfill optimization requests.

 

Application and Technology Management:

  • Configure and optimize applications and technology to meet the specific requirements of clinical workflows.
  • Collaborates across Information Technology to ensure that clinical and operational systems meet security requirements.
  • Maintains application documentation, back-up procedures, and business continuance.
  • Test systems and technology to identify defects and develop mitigation plans.
  • Follow change management and ITIL processes.
  • Understand and apply regulatory requirements and professional standards to the design, build, and optimization of clinical technologies.
  • Design, develop, and implement clinical documentation and decision support systems that improve the quality of care and ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborates with vendors to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Works with leadership to develop application and technology strategies.
  • Partners with vendors to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships.

 

Project and Program Management:

  • Manages complex, IT and Enterprise level projects and provides expertise to implement new clinical applications and technologies.
  • Applies project management skills, tools, and lean methodologies.
  • Manages in the planning, execution, and delivery of complex programs.
  • Mentors others in their development of project management skills, tools, and lean methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred and 5-7 years experience Clinical experience, health informatics, Information Systems, or Information Technology experience. Project Management experience OR
  • Associate's Degree and 7 or more years experience Clinical experience, health informatics, Information Systems, or Information Technology experience. Project Management experience.
  • EPIC build/certification strongly preferred.
  • Must successfully obtain EPIC certification within 120 days of hire.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $35.91/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
