The Lead Data Platform Engineer is responsible for the development, configuration, maintenance, testing, and monitoring of processes and products in support of our enterprise data platform. This role shares in the ownership of our data platform, building and positioning it as a crucial pillar of executing the Data Strategy for Children's Mercy Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Proficiency in data architecture, data warehousing, and/or schema design
• Proficiency with Spark/Scala, Kafka, Python, etc. with hands-on in data interchangeable formats like JSON
• Experience working with structured and semi-structured data architectures
• Experience working with object-oriented languages
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
• Expertise in developing scalable ETL pipelines and processes
• Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC)
• Experience with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) integrations
• Understanding of agile methodology and software development lifecycles
• Proficiency in Databricks and HL7 messaging standards
• Experience with Azure cloud services
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or Data Engineering certification – Preferred
• Exposure to Terraform, Airflow, and/or similar
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar
• Experience communicating technical problems and solutions to non-technical audiences

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $53.05/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.
