Overview

The Quality Improvement Nurse – Documentation Audit Specialist, in collaboration with and under the direction of the Quality Systems Senior Manager, provides analytical implementation of a process for thorough medical record review and professional audit services based on advanced knowledge of TJC standards and elements of performance, CMS Conditions of Participation (CoP's), state practice acts for clinical services and other applicable accreditation and regulatory requirements as they pertain to clinical services. The Quality Improvement Nurse – Documentation Audit Specialist is accountable and responsible for clinical audit review that supports TJC and CMS requirements and corrective action plans associated with any accreditation or regulatory agency survey. This position is responsible for providing a continuous and thorough gap analysis related to meeting accreditation and regulatory documentation requirements and is the individual primarily responsible for working with Clinical Informatics and IS to assure a timely, accurate and appropriate clinical documentation system for the Children's Mercy Home Care clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Informatics and the Information Systems (IS) Department regarding correct, appropriate and applicable TJC, CMS, state and federal data elements and requirements for all clinical home health electronic and paper medical record documentation. Responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation in the patient medical record.
  • Develops and designs the medical record review and clinical audit process utilizing a continuous and thorough program gap analysis; the audit process and program must comply with accreditation and regulatory documentation requirements.
  • Participates and supports in process and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas 
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri 
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provide Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $31.42/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
