Overview

Responsible to maintain in a clean and sanitary manner all facilities of the hospital as assigned by the Manager. Assigned work areas shall be maintained at a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation according to established policies and procedures and with the guidance of the Manager. Requires satisfactory completion of special procedures as assigned, from time to time, by the Managers.

Project RISE (Reaching for Independent Successful Employment) creates employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities through:

Qualifications for Project RISE

A person with a disability who identifies of having a physical or mental impairment, which creates a barrier to employment, and who needs Supported Employment services to reach successful employment.  

We expect that individuals  are able to perform assigned tasks independently after the  supported employment period.  

 

What is Supported Employment:  Support Employment is ongoing supports provided to individuals and their employers who, because of their disabilities, need intensive on-going support to maintain a job in competitive or customized employment, or self-employment, in an integrated work setting.  

 

This is achieved by providing on-the-job training in work and work-related skills; i.e. job coaching to facilitate the acquisition, and ongoing performance, of the essential functions of the job and the facilitation of natural supports (i.e. fading). Ongoing retention, supervision and monitoring of the person's performance; i.e. evaluating self-maintenance strategies, work production and the effectiveness of natural supports (i.e. fading) which promote the greatest degree of inclusion, integration and autonomy. Training in related skills needed to retain employment; i.e. supporting and facilitating strategies which promote attendance and social inclusion in the workplace based upon individualized assessed need such as using community resources and public transportation

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. Responsibilities

  • Maintains floors in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all areas of the hospital property.
  • Required to handle hazardous waste, general waste and soiled linens to transport throughout the hospital facility to collection site for contractual removal.
  • Maintains areas in an aesthetically pleasing and orderly fashion.
  • Operates cleaning equipment and checks for proper function. Maintains cleanliness of equipment.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $17.00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
