Overview

To manage, coordinate, and perform administrative functions for the Masonic Cancer Alliance Partners Advisory Board activities at Children's Mercy. The purpose of this position is to operationalize and oversee the Masonic Cancer Alliance (MCA) funding that Children's Mercy is responsible for as part of their role in being a Partners Advisory Board member of the MCA. The role will facilitate the annual request for new grant proposals, assist applicants in understanding the unique requirements of the collaborative grants, and play a key role in seeing projects from start-up to next level funding. Work with partners within MCA leadership, MCA partners, KU Cancer Center, Children's Mercy researchers, and Cancer Center leaders will be integral to this position.

Responsibilities

  • Resource for the management and oversight of research and project awards funded by the Masonic Cancer Alliance. This includes management of the annual request for proposals, arrangement of proposal reviews, and awarding of grants. Funded project oversight includes on-going communication with grantees to monitor milestones, troubleshoot, track and facilitate scholarly work product, help to facilitate next step funding. Will provide additional individual project management support with designated responsibilities up to an agreed upon level. This support will be reviewed each year to determine support for the upcoming year. Will assist in facilitating publication editing and submissions to align with author guideline requirements and to ensure timeliness. Manages and oversees research and project awards funded by Masonic Cancer Alliance.
  • Will serve as the primary contact and resource for MCA PAB activities at Children?s Mercy. Will maintain overall accounting of utilized and available funds. Will facilitate and track renewal of consortia agreements.
  • Identify and liaison with potential researchers to promote opportunities for funding and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required and 1-2 years experience Previous Experience with project management or research preferred 

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $23.26/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
