Overview

The Research Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Laboratory established to support funded and non-funded collaborative efforts within the Baby Health Behavior Lab at CMH and its partners. The lab manager will also be responsible for supervising staff, and providing training and mentorship to staff, students, visitors, residents, fellows, and faculty on laboratory techniques and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff, students, residents, fellows and faculty to execute projects within allotted budget and timelines; to include setting priorities, assigning responsibilities, and establishing timetables for research projects.
  • Plan/organize monthly team building activities
  • Assure that laboratory technicians and other staff are properly trained in Standard Operating Procedures, project specific requirements, and equipment specific requirements.
  • Assists with qualitative and quantitative analysis of statistical data, studies and reports, to identify and determine causes of problems and develop recommendations for improvement of processes through education, direction, and mentorship to trainees, students, residents, fellows and faculty to assure success of projects.
  • Offer technical guidance to trainees, students, residents, fellows and faculty utilizing the core lab as a resource for related studies and learning opportunities
  • Provide administrative interface with other research and clinical laboratories within CMH that are relevant to the scientific and technical mission of the laboratory and related projects.

Qualifications

PHD- Preferred and 1-2 of experience in relevent research 

Master Degree Required and 3-5 years of experience  in relevent research 

Preferred: Board Certified in Music Therapy

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $34.51/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
