Overview

Are you interested in becoming a part of an exciting new initiative at Children’s Mercy? We are looking for Mental Health Providers to join our PATH (Pediatric Access to Therapy and Healing) Team. PATH Providers will be trained and provide short-term outpatient therapy for patients who present with acuity needs, training to be provided upon hire. PATH Providers will work in the emergency department along side our mental health assessment team to provide seamless care coordination.

 

This position will be located at Broadway Campus in KCMO, and hours are Monday-Friday 10:00-16:30.

 

The Child and Family Mental Health Provider is a Master's level Clinician or Social Worker who will provide evidence-based therapy services to children and families at Children's Mercy. Our mental health services are provided for a broad range of patients, including children in mental health crisis, parents struggling with behavioral problems, children and families who have been impacted by trauma and children who are at risk for abuse and neglect. Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The Child and Family Mental Health Provider role will provide evidence based child and family therapy services, which may include any of the following: inpatient consultation, outpatient crisis intervention, long-term family therapy, TF-CBT, to children and families seen at Children’s Mercy. The family therapy clinician will provide back up support to the Acute Mental Health Screening (AMHS) Team.
  • The Child and Family Mental Health Provider role will maintain ongoing communication with referral sources, service providers and care team, as well as, assisting families with accessing community services and transitioning to other treatment providers when needed.
  • This Child and Family Mental Health Provider role will demonstrate active involvement and leadership within the team, department, and hospital by regular attendance at meetings and educational opportunities, serving as a consultant for other members of the department and hospital, participation on committees, and responding to hospital and/or community requests for educational programs. 

Qualifications

Master's Degree plus 1-2 years of experience, plus the following licensure:

  • Must have a social work license (LMSW/LCSW/LSCSW) or professional counseling license (LPC/LCPC) in the state of primary work location upon hire and then be dually licensed in both states within 90 days of employment.
  • Candidates licensed with a master level social work license, must be engaged in clinical supervision.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $29.66/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
