Overview

This position is responsible for appropriately receiving and coordinating DME referrals from physicians, hospitals, facilities and other community referral sources. This position is responsible for obtaining all required documentation for medical insurance coverage. This position requires significant specialized knowledge, judgment, and critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care that includes knowledge and integration of relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, resources, and data. This position provides family-centered referral services as part of the DME team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the overall coordination of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and supply services are delivered according to acceptable standards of practice, hospital and Home Care policies and procedures.
  • Maintains existing patients? DME orders and authorizations.
  • Demonstrates proficient use of communication skills and maintains appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Scheduling and coordinating new referrals

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience DME company or
  • Associate's Degree No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $18.92/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
