Overview

Position coordinates operations of research studies involving human subjects applying knowledge and skills that are specific to the study and that meet the mission and goals of the program under general supervision of Andrea Bradley- Ewing https://www.childrensmercy.org/profiles/andrea-bradley-ewing/. Develops recruitment materials and assists the PI with study protocol submissions. Recruits study participants. Coordinates, schedules, and monitors research activities and subject participation. Interprets and applies study protocols, conducts interviews, administers tests, records observations. Assists with development and delivery of behavioral health interventions as part of research study protocols, using applicable techniques and methods. Coordinates management of study data, monitors data to maintain quality control. Summarizes study results, prepares reports, posters, manuscripts and presentations, routes reports to funding agencies and groups upon approval of the PI. Assists with budget and finance activities, including but not limited to, participant payments, travel, and monitoring budget activities. Communicates and coordinates with community partners to engage in research study development and maintain ongoing relationship, including but not limited to, provide necessary updates, schedule meetings and other research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the research mission through the planning, implementing, and execution of research projects.
  • Work with research partners and sites in the community, recruit subjects into research studies, obtain written informed consent, screen subjects, perform study visit procedures, gather data, and bring projects to completion.
  • Provide support and direction for the day to day operations for assigned research projects, including providing oversight for teams of research assistants performing research in the community.
  • Promotes efficiency and organization of research operations, attends education opportunities and unit meeting, and assists in the maintenance of a safe environment.
  • Working with CM faculty and staff as well as patients, families, and community members to increase diversity in pediatric cancer research.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree and 3-5 years experience Previous Research Experience Required
  • Spanish/English bilingual (reading, written, oral) preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $28.39/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
