  • Support public health research efforts for specified projects within Weighing In, a community coalition promoting healthy lifestyles.
  • Primary responsibilities include supporting Weighing In’s primary initiatives, include the Kansas City Physical Activity Plan, the community/clinical healthy lifestyles program ‘1-2-3-4-5 Fit-Tastic!’, and the Children’s Mercy Community Garden.
  • Specific responsibilities include managing working groups, communication with community partners, implementation of public health programs, and supporting partner policy promotion efforts.
  • Research responsibilities include qualitative and quantitative community-based data collection and data reduction, and active participation in the preparation of and execution of grants, contracts, posters, presentations, and publications associated with ongoing public health efforts.
  • Individuals with a background in community-based research, public health, and healthy lifestyles (regular physical activity, healthy eating) are encouraged to apply.


  • Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, Health Sciences, Nutrition, or Exercise Science (or related disciplines)
  • 3 to 5 years' relevant research experience in the field of study
  • Master’s degree preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $22.43/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
